What does black vomit mean?!

Question: What does black vomit mean!?
Yesterday was the first time I ran 12 miles!. Afterwards I felt very sick, almost like a horrible hangover!. Eventually I vomited and felt much better!.

What worries me is that the vomit was black, pitch black, almost like tar, and there was a lot of it!.

Anyone know what this could be!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
It could be numerous things, ingested blood (like if you had a nose bleed and swallowed some), vigorous vomiting (can tear small blood vessels in the throat), peptic ulcers (open sores in the stomach), internal inflammation!. If the blood in your vomit is red it means that it was only there for a short period of time!. Black vomit (or coffee ground color) means that it has been in your stomach for a longer period of time!. Running 12 miles could have gotten you overheated, which made you throw up and notice the blood if you haven't vomited lately!. You need to talk to a health care professional as soon as possible!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm no doctor but I've always heard that 'tar' like substance, whether it comes from the stomach or other end, is partially digested blood and a sign of internal bleeding!.

You need advice from a doctor, not a website!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think usually black vomit means its your bowel, but in your case I am not sure since you were fine the day before!. I would check with a doctor just to make sure!Www@Answer-Health@Com
