I work in a prison and have to be careful all the time!.

Always be aware of who is around you!. Carry something in your hand, such as a key or a pen!.

Never talk to a stranger, no matter their excuse!. They can always drive a little further to find an adult to talk to!. If a stranger tries to stop you, ignore them and keep walking!. If you have a cell phone, start to call someone, make sure you get a license plate number and if you can a description of the car or their clothing!. Try to remember what the person looked like!.

NO adult has the right to stop a minor to ask a question!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Mace, a whistle, pay attention to your surroundings!. Keep your cell phone in your hand in case you feel in danger, you can make a call quickly if need!. Don't walk down an ally!.

If someone is following you go to the nearest house and pound on that door like there's no tomorrow!. Always think "What if" in these situations!. I'd rather think the worst and come off as a paranoid freak than be dead in a ditch somewhere just because I was worried what the people in the house would think!.

If someone does grab you, scream as loudly as you can, fling your arms and legs about and try to hit them if you can so you can get away!. Try to hit sensitive areas, like the crotch, the nose, the throat or the ribs!. If you can grab a hand full of their hair pull!!!

Keep your keys out, you can use then to jab!. or if someone does try to take you , fake a violent seizure or convulsions and become dead weight, act crazy - who wants to capture a crazy person!? If they have ahold on you put your arms straight up(if you can), and drop to the ground, it might startle them and open a window for you to get away!. Stomp on their feet!.

You could always take some self defense courses!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Traveling is about risk, after all!. Jumping on a bus to an unknown destination, talking to strangers in a bar, getting off the map!. As a traveler, you can minimize problems by basic planning!. Try to avoid arriving in places at night, have enough money with you to check into a hotel without going to an ATM when you arrive somewhere new, and don't go off with your new friends if you have no idea how to get home!.

Remember your dad warned you about walking down dark alleys!?

So, do not walk around at night in dark areas such as unlit gardens or beaches, unless with a large group!.
