REPOST: Am I overweight?!

Question: REPOST: Am I overweight!?
I've had to put this again cos it just wasn't appearing for some reason after a while!.

---------

"Notice I didn't put 'fat' - I just want to know if this is overweight!.

I am a 16-year-old girl, 5 feet 6 inches tall, weigh 12 stone (approx!. 166 pounds/76!.2 kilos) and have a large build!.

By 'large build' I mean I have big bones and quite a bit of muscle!. My mum says I have a large build cos I follow after my dad's side of the family - who also have a larger build!. My sister (lucky thing) is 22, weighs 8 stone and has a small build!. I'm like so much younger than her and yet look like a giant next to her!.

Thanks! Please, your honest and sensible answers!.

Lol!.

I have asked this question before, but this question has now got pictures too, as some of the answerers before said a picture would be more helpful than stats!.

Here are the pics (the first one is the most recent, I took that one today purposefully for this question):

You look great to me

Overweight is really a medical term!. Some people are overweight but don't look it!.

I'm not sure being skinny means you are lucky anyway! People vary immensely, even within families as you have noticed!.

Dont worry about it!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Carisbrooke Castle IOW, i've been there too!

Anyway, you have nothing to worry about!. A sensible balanced diet and exercise plan will get you "toned" up!. But you are not excessively overweight!.

Good LuckWww@Answer-Health@Com

you're 16,
i was thinking you would know better than to post questions like this sort on the internet!.
People say a lot of things and apparently your question portrays what your self confidence is like!.
you should be building it up not breaking itWww@Answer-Health@Com

No, I don't think you're over-weight in the slightest!.

You can check your body mass index here!. http://www!.nhlbisupport!.com/bmi/

Hope this helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would say, if you aren't happy with the way you look, it wouldn't hurt to lose a little weight!. but if you are happy with your body, don't worry about it! Www@Answer-Health@Com

You're not really overweight, it wouldn't hurt to lose 10 lbs maybe!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

hi you look ok to me i have 3 sisters all size 8 /10 and me 18/20 just be happy with yourself and love yourself we don't all have to be skin and bone xWww@Answer-Health@Com

nahh your not overweight, Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, not all all!.

Just try to tone up a bit =)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am prepared for several thumbs down here, but if I may be frank with you, I'd say no you are not overweight, and the Wikipedia entry for BMI (Body Mass Index) backs me up here!.

However, I would say you are not very 'toned' (I think is the expression I'm looking for)!.

I would suggest that if you are not careful, you could become overweight!.

Going out on a limb, I'm guessing you have a bit of a problem with your body image!. Just be careful about what you eat and drink, and take regular exercise!. If you are really worried, talk it over with a health professional!.

I agree with sunlow - you don't look toooo overweight, maybe you just need to do some firming/toning to give yourself that little bit of extra confidence you need! You just look like a normal girl to me!. I'm not happy with my weight either right now, and im pretty close to what you weigh - only SHORTER ugh! Keep your chin up, i have a skinny minny sister too and it sucks i know! haha but God gave us the body we have to make the best of, so just try doing some Pilates, it's working great for me! Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would say 'yes' but only slightly!.

I would suggest to improve your diet and incorporate more exercise!. Nothing to worry about though, just take your time and make small changes each week

e!.g!.
* eat smaller meals(3 meals 2-3 snacks) more frequently 5-6 times a day
* drop additional sugar and/or salt
* drink more water, keep hydrated else you may think your hungary when youre not
* Eat more complex carbs over simple carbs (google complex carbs, GI ratings)
* Include goods fats !.!. oils, nuts etc!.!., (google EFA)
* swap white versions of bread/rice/pasta to wholemeal

those kind of things!.!.
