Stress is never good for anything - and yes - it will most likely hamper your attempts to lose weight!.

The way this happens, more often than not, is that you tend to eat more when you're stressed!. Even worse - your body will crave comfort foods - which isn't exactly good for you if you want/need to lose weight!.

If you're stressed, you should try and deal with the stress problem, before going on a diet!. Stress is much worse for you than being overweight!. Deal with both problems - but get your priorities right!

Try and take time out to relax, and do something positive! Walking slowly round a park, taking in the wonders of nature, will help you relax and give you exercise!. This means it's good for both dealing with stress and losing weight - and it's one heck of a lot better than sitting in front of the TV for an hour!. See if you can come up with other things (like swimming) that could do the same for you!.

Watch what you eat, and make sure you burn more calories than what you take in!. You'll burn on average around 2000 calories a day just doing what you normally do, any exercise will add to this, and if you take in less calories you'll lose weight!
