Does your metabolism slow down when you're ill? ?!

Question: Does your metabolism slow down when you're ill!? !?
I've been sick for a few days now and I haven't really had much of an appetite at all but it seems as though, even though I'm eating less, I seem to be gaining more weight!? I feel some what bloated all the time!.

Is this just a state of mind!? Or is this for real!!?!

Also, any suggestions on what type of foods I can eat when sick!? (besides from obvious chicken noodle soups)

Thanks in advance!

Answers:
Yes, when you are sick your metabolism may slow down because you are eating less!.!.!.thus your body slows down to store the calories you are giving it because it doesn't know when it's going to get the 'regular' amount again!.

That doesn't mean you should be gaining weight though, unless you are eating nothing but junk food!. You may be bloated and just feeling crummy!. It's more common to drop a few pounds (usually water weight) when down with a cold/flu than to put weight on but everyone is different!.

Eat whatever you feel like eating (you "can" eat whatever you like that will stay down), and keep well hydrated!. I hope you feel better soon!Www@Answer-Health@Com
