Answers:

Whole grain is the key word while selecting bread for health!.

Being brown doesn't make bread necessary whole wheat or whole grain! Some brown bread indeed is added with brown coloring!. You may find it listed on the label usually as "caramel coloring"!!! In addition, the term "multi-grain" bread, "rye" bread, "5 grain" or "7 grain" bread also doesn't mean that they always use whole grain in their formulation!. In United States and Canada, only bread labeled with "whole wheat" truly uses whole wheat flour in their processing!. Other "wheat bread" may simply use a combination of white refined flour and whole wheat flour!. The key word to look for is "whole"!!
Whole grains contain fiber, antioxidants such as Vitamin E and selenium, iron, magnesium, zinc and B vitamins!. When whole grains are refined, all of the above are completely or partially removed!. Among the above, more than 50% of Vitamin B1 (Thiamine), Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin), Vitamin B3 (Niacin), Vitamin B5 (Pentothenic Acid), Vitamin 6, Folate and Vitamin E are lost during the milling process!. In addition, whole grains also contain lignans, phenolic acids, phytoestrogens, and other phytochemicals may help reduce the risk of heart disease, cancer, and diabetes!.

By law, the flour manufacturers must fortify white flour with Thiamine, Riboflavin, Niacin, Folate and Iron to replenish the loss during the refining processWww@Answer-Health@Com

There is so much bread to choose from don't give yourself a headache!. Any bread that has grain, seeds, wholemeal bread etc is good for you as it contains the necessary nutrients!. White bread is not as good for you as it is mostly starch, this is the same as white rice and normal coloured pasta!. When there is too much starch this turns to sugar!. The easy way to test this is to chew a bit of white bread and then chew a bit of wholemeal!. The white bread after a while will taste sweet and this occurs as the amalyse in your saliva is breaking down the bread into starch (sugar)!. The wholemeal does not have the same effect!. all the breads are similar in calories around 80-100!. It's not just the calories you need to watch for it's the fat and sugar too!. Croisant is made out of flaky pastry (filo) and this has a high sugar content which is why it tastes sweet!. Anything that tastes sweet without you adding anything to it is usually full of sugar!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Brown roll with seeds!.

They might all be the same in calories, but it's how those calories are made up that affects their nutritional value!. It is difficult to give exact proportions, you need to check the labels!.

The brown roll with seeds will have more vitamins/minerals/whole grains than the others!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Granary bread, and other heavy brown, wholemeal and breads with seeds undoubtedly are higher calorie, but it's not the calories you need to be counting in every case!. These breads also have a far greater amount of fibre and vitamins and oils from the seeds etc!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

the brown roll with seeds is the healthiest as it contains much more fibre than the others as well as wheatgerm which is good for your heart!. The white roll is too refined and the croissant has a great deal of butter in it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
