a male should eat 2500 calories per day, a female should eat 2000 if you go by the recommended daily ammount!.
however, if you want to loose weight perhaps cut down to 1500 calories per day!.
also try to remember it isn't about how many calories you take in, it is about the TYPES of food you eat for instance 1500calories worth of chips per day is going to be no good for you!.
also, regular excercise helps boost your metabolism - so do this too!!

If you want to lose weight in a "good way" (gradually) - use this equation:
Calories/day = Your goal weight * 10
So say you want to be 120 - which is ideal for your height, then you would eat around 1200!.
Once you get to you goal weight, you can eat 15*your goal weight - so in this examble, that would be 1800 calories a day!.

Honestly, it depends on your activity level!. But, if you want to lose weight, eat 3000 calories, but burn 3500!. That way, you'll lose weight, but if would be a lot easier to keep your muscles from wasting away!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

1200 calories is the minimum!. you will lose weight!. but you also have to take into account your current weight,, the more you weigh, the more calories you need!. if you are under 145 lbs, 1200 cal per dayWww@Answer-Health@Com
