Answers:
Everyone has really strong muscles, but most fibers aren't activated when you use them!. I think it has alot to do with the central nervous system and the number of muscle fibers being recruited!. More strength will result in some size, but there are different kinds of strength!.

One person may have more explosive strength, and they may not be as big!. Think bruce lee!. On the other hand, you have body builders who train with really heavy weights very slowly, and they get alot bigger, but considering their size, they aren't really that strong as far as useful strength goes!. Some people can squat 400 lbs but can't jump 6 inches off the ground!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Of course!. I know many weightlifting guys who can't keep up with workmen in the trades!. You would think they could, but the manner in which body builders bulk up is different from muscle mass created through physical labor!. weight training is structured doing so many reps at a certain weight!. People who do manual labor are lifting variable weights while in motion!. A guy who bench press at the gym might not as easily be able to say, carry bundles of shingles up a ladder as easily as a seasoned roofer!. This is true of most trades!.
Weight lifters might want to argue to point, but I have worked around the trades for years, and have seen many a guy who lifts, quit after a day because the work is too difficult for them!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

There is a very high correlation between weight and absolute strength!. With the same body composition, the person weighing more usually is stronger!.
Some smaller, trained people will however be significantly stronger than a bigger, sedentary person!. They are very strong without being big!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes they are different things!. Muscle mass or body mass is not co-related with strength!.

BUT, as your body gets stronger, it does have to build up a minimum amount of mass to compliment the amount of strength you have gained!. And this amount of mass is a lot less than you would gain from doing muscle building volumes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Boxing classes are based on size and weight, if you think that a heavyweight boxer taking on a featherweight, the heavyweight would the pawn the featherweight, the difference is size!. Yes, bigger people tend to be stronger, yes like with evrything it does not apply to evryone but it is common!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They aren't completely different -definitely related-, but they are significantly different things!.
You can be decently strong while looking weak (not big), or vice versa!.

In general though, you can expect your school's huge jock to be stronger than your local twig-thin nerd!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

HECK YA! you can be really strong and people would never guess or vice versa!. Anyway you can be stron and not look it!. Its not the SIZE of your muscles but the extent tthey can go to!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
