Muscle wastage and starvation question!?!


Question: Muscle wastage and starvation question!!?
for biology work!:

i've heard that you get muscle wastage from starvation!. this sounds stupid, but is starvation eating as little calories as possible!?

how long does it take the body to eventually look so skinny and thin and brittle!? like, literally skin hanging off bones!?
if you exercise, does this help you get muscle wastage, or not!?

The short answer is that it depends on what the person is composed of before they go into starvation mode!. Starvation also varies from when it will start!.

muscle mass requires alot of energy to maintain!. Research bmr!. When too few calories are consumed the body has to make a choice - does it keep the muscle or use the glucose avail through glucogenesis for fuel and decrease energy requirements!.

Muscle wasteage - or catabolic breakdown would occur faster in someone exercising while consuming starvation level calories!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, starvation is the result of refusing to eat, or having no access to food!.

It depends on your body shape at the start!. If you were very overweight to begin with, it will obviously take longer for you to 'look starved'

Building muscle through exercise speeds up your metabolism and will prevent a certain degree of skin saggage!.

(If, perchance, you're not asking these things for Biology work - don't attempt self-starvation to lose weight!. It's extremely dangerous, and also pretty ineffective!. Eating well and exercising actually helps you lose weight more efficiently!.)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Starvation is your body not getting any calories because you're not taking in any food!. When you don't get enough calories your body has to survive by using up all your fat, then when thats all gone it will start eating your muscles!.
Excercising would build up your muscles, rather than waste them away!. But if you're not eating you wouldn't be able to do much excercise anyway!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The body starts eating it's own muscle before it starts eating it's own fat when being starved!. Exercising will help gain muscle back plus burn fat, resulting in keeping the muscle and loosing the fat!. But!.!. From lack of energy because of starving it would be very difficult to exercise!.
