Look, these ppl are wrong!. I started when I was 12! I was basically the strongest person in my class up until high school that is!. I had no growth issues at all, in fact, I would have to say it helped me grow because when you work out and lift you eat more to get bigger ya know!. I didn't start taking supplements like whey protein and stuff till I was like 15 1/2 though!. But yea, I never had any problems, no aches or muscle tears or anything!.

EDIT: Actually thomas, it is more beneficial to stretch AFTER you work out with weights!. Stretching before lifting weights can actually inhibit your lifting ability!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It depends!. People should only do weight lifting if they are fully matured and have passed puberty because if you're still growing then you trying to build up muscle could effect your height and it could even effect how muscular you'd like to be later!. I think you should wait a little longer but it depends on you!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your ready!. I began lifting at 14!. Just make sure to stretch out REAL good before you lift!. Do some warm up reps before you start lifting heavier weight!. Don't lift by yourself, you need some to "spot" you in case you get "stuck"!. DO NOT EVER BENCH PRESS BY YOURSELF!! Www@Answer-Health@Com

Im 13 and I lift weights!. Just dont go over your limit start with about 3-5 pounds, and work your way up!. Also if your school has a weight room you'll probally start bench pressing about 45!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can start around 14 with supervision so you don't hurt yourself!. My son started with a trainer!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think under 16 you are nto allowed to do weight lifting, so you just can! Good luck :0 hope this helped xWww@Answer-Health@Com

i did it wen i was 14 and ive never had problems!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
