How do you politely turn down an offer from food, when trying to lose weight?!

Question: How do you politely turn down an offer from food, when trying to lose weight!?
A family friend came down tonight, and offered to buy dinner for everyone (KFC, specifically)!. Of course no one here objected to that (and my fiance's father probably slipped a 20 in her purse later, lol), but I did have a small issue!.

I am again making an attempt to lose some weight!. I have cut out tons of things that I know are not going to help in that - which includes greasy, fried foods!. For tonight, I simply watch my portions, and kept them small!. Even though this doesn't happen much (we go months without having take out), how can I politely decline such an offer (if only for myself)!? I by no means want to be rude, or offend her, and although I know she won't take it that way, I do know that she might feel guilty later, and I don't want her to!.

If anyone has any suggestions I would really be interested in hearing from you!.!.!.Thanks =]Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've found during my own quest to find that perfect weight for me simply being honest!. Saying something like, "That you so much for the offer I really appreciate it, but I'm really trying to watch what I eat!." If your at home keep something on hand that's easy to prepare (Lean Cuisine or something similar) and you have that while everyone else is enjoying KFC!. Sincerity is usually the best way to go because once you share with someone your goals they usually are supportive!. I've found that by telling someone my progress and how well I am sticking to my diet they usually get very excited and make sure to order me something low-fat or are not offended when I prepare my own meal!. It's really tough especially when everyone else is enjoying the same thing!. But it pays off in the end!. Don't forget, while dieting it is okay to treat yourself once in a while!. So you can say yes to KFC every now and then, just choose small portions, take the skin off, eat slowly and drink a lot of water to full yourself into thinking you are full, then later on you can have a small healthy snack!. I hope this helps and good luck!!! It's a tough journey but it's so worth it!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just tell her, thank you but I'm trying to shy away from take out food or fried foods!.
Or thank you but I'm not really hungry right now, but don't let me stop you go ahead and eat!. I'll wait much later and have something small!.

Very interesting question!. If you really can't turn her down completely then go for a healthy option for take out like subway, where you really can chose a healthy option!. Look for alternatives - if she asks for KFC then suggest something else for a change!. If she can't accept it just say you're wanting to switch it up a bit!. It's not nice having to make excuses for wanting to try and eat healthy, because I know if you said to her "No, I'm dieting" She would feel disapointed, concerned, and a bit self conscious too!. So, hope I've helped an good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
