I'm 5'7", 155 lbs, can I be considered thin?!

Question: I'm 5'7", 155 lbs, can I be considered thin!?
I'm a male!. Nearly everyone tells me I'm thin, some even say I should eat more!. But if based on BMI index I'm nearly overweight!

Why is that!? I don't look so muscly either! So where is the extra weight hiding!? Is it possible to be heavier than you look just because you have very heavy bones!?

Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
guys are naturally more muscular than women (not to be sexist, it's just true!. It's how we're made) therefore naturally weigh more!. So I'm 5'7" but I weigh 125 lbs!. But you are the same height as me, BUT you weigh 30 lbs more!. Now compared side to side you'd notice that you're shoulders are probably a lot broader, and well as you're probably a lot wider in general!. So Even though we're the same height, because you're a guy, and naturally wider, naturaly more muscular, then you'll weigh more!. And just because you don't look muscular doesn't mean you aren't!. And you sound just the right weight!. I've maintained a consistent weight of 125 since I hit 5' 7"!. So if you at 155 lbs is consistent then that's really good!. So I wouldn't worry about it!. If you're really concerned talk to your doctor!. And really thin, just think, do i have a flat stomach!? and not necessarily washboard with six pack abs etc!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

BMI, or Body Mass Index, roughly calculates the fat in your body!. If you have more fat than muscle, then obviously you can be considered overweight!. Since muscle weighs more than fat, and you say you are not "muscly", then the majority of your weight comes from fat, which is not necessarily healthy!. For some reason, a lot of people think that just because you are skinny, you are healthy!. It's not true!. Your bones don't weigh more than anyone else's!. 155 lbs is maybe a little more than a 5'7 male should weigh, but it is not above average!. I hope this answered your question!Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, that is not possible!. However, muscle weighs more than fat!. If you are a lean man and have a small amount of body fat, the weight is due to your muscles!. If it is not easy for you too gain weight or you feel great as you are, then ignore those people!. I think many people don't realize that it is as insulting to tell a thin person they are skinny as it is to tell a heavy person they are fat!. Why is that not common sense to most!?
Anyway, if you want to increase the number or add some bulk to your frame, work out using free weights!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am also 5'7" and last spring was tipping the scales at 175!. I realized I was getting way too heavy and have dieted and brought my weight down to 145lbs!. I knew I had a lot of abdominal fat, and could tell that was being reduced as I dieted!. However I was surprised to find how much looser my pants are now!. (So there is a good chance you are hiding the extra weight in the seat of your pants)

The whole 'big bones' argument is significantly overstated!. Skeletal frames do not vary siginificantly between persons of the same height!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

In Europe you would be considered average!. In America you are thin!. Even if you can't see your muscles they are there and they weigh alot!. I wouldn't go off of the BMI index!. It was invented to make really really large people who can do something about losing weight do just that!. Besides you are a guy what are you worried about anyways!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

yea it depends on how much lean muscle mass you have, bmi doesnt figure in muscle, nfl players would be considered obese based on there bmi

don't worry about your weight at your age because you're about to grow taller and go through puberty

Very heavy bones don't exist!. The average total weight of bones in the human body i believe is 3!.3 lbs!. At most, it could tack on another 3 lbs if that!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
