I am have cut down on my eating so why am I still putting it on!. I am 35 years old and never had a weight problem but obesity does run in my family!. Can that be the reason!. Is there anything I can do to help it!? I am taking lexapro 10 mg for depression can it cause that!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Cutting down eating won't necessarily stop weight gain if you are eating "bad" foods!.
I don't know about lexapro 10, it is possible a side effect from the drug is weight gain!. I would talk to your doctor!.
Obesity can be genetic, all that means is you have to work a little harder at not gaining weight than the next person!. It doesn't mean you are doomed to be obese as well!.
As we get older the body naturally slows down, that can contribute to weight gain!.
If you continue to gain weight quickly go to your doctor to make sure there is not some other underlying health problem such as a thyroid issue or a tumor!.
Also, do you exercise!? Whether you are trying to lose weight or not, exercise should be a regular part of your life for good health!.
Most people should be doing:
Cardio: 3-5 days per week for 20-60mins per day
Strength: 2-3 days per week doing at least one exercise for all major muscle groups
Flexibility: 2-3 days per week stretching the muscles around all major joints, holding the stretch for a least 20 seconds!.
A good diet consists of: lean protein, whole grains, fruits, veggies, nuts & seeds, healthy fats, and the occasional treat!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sorry, this is not too helpful -

I don't know what Lexapro is in generic terms, if you tell what that is i'll look it up and check if a side-effect is weight gain!.

If you have been healthy so far then try not to blame genetics - 35 before gaining too much weight for your comfort is impressive, and you can regain that comfort zone and be comfortable in your body!.

I gain weight relentlessly when i don't eat during the day - not only does skipping breakfast, and usually lunch, slow your metabolism, it will increase the risk of craving for food / fatty food later in the day, when you can't metabolise it cos youre asleep!.!.!.!.

I really feel for you - i was anorexic for 12 years, but now i struggle to keep some kind of perspective on food, life, weight, everything!. Look after yourself, and remember weight watchers is not the be-all - i eat a vege / vegan diet, with lots of vegetables / home made veg soup and ratatouille with baked potatoes, nutty-stir fry or wholemeal breads and rice!.

Don't deprive yourself and keep motivated,

Good luck xWww@Answer-Health@Com

Yes anti-depressants can cause weight gain, but it depends how long you have been on it, if it's recent then probably, if you have been on it awhile you wouldn't just be gaining weight now!. 10mg is a pretty high dose, I would see you Doctor and talk to them about it!.You are also saying you are hungary all the time and no longer working full time, so it's also possible you are simply less active and eating to much!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Eat more frequent meals!. I find that my metabolism (and most other peoples) are quite demanding!. I work 50 hours a week and go to school so I really don't have time to eat the way I need to, but when I do, I lose at least 20 pounds in a month and can keep it off as long as I eat right!. Instead of eating 2 or 3 meals a day (starving your body), eat a snack/meal every 2-3 hours!. Nothing huge! Just get something in your stomach every few hours to keep your metabolism moving!. I even ate icecream but I put it in a coffee cup instead of a bowl (portion control)!. You don't have to count calories, but I would glance on the numbers and use common sense!. And yes, anti-depressants tend to make you gain weight initially!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The pattern for losing weight is not difficult - consume less food and workout more often - the issues appear when we really try to put that into operation! There are plenty of temptations out there don't you think!?! The sole diet that definitely delivered for me is wu-yi tea, it can be checked out at www!.wu-yiNow!.com (check out the resource box underneath) they have a limited number of free trials remaining, it has been featured in Reader's Digest and CNN!. I worked off thrity pounds, it definitely does produce results!Www@Answer-Health@Com

your meds could be causing weight gain!. Check with your dr!.
It could be hereditary too!.
Work out more, don't stop eating, that will actually make you gain weight!. Eat healthy through out the day, small portions!. Lots of waterWww@Answer-Health@Com
