How do you know if your body is used to workout? (plateau??)?!

Question: How do you know if your body is used to workout!? (plateau!?!?)!?
I run 5 days a week now!.
4!.5 miles!.
(along with crunches, pilates, etc!. of course)

but Im wondering if my body is getting used to the speed/how far I run!. I feel like im gaining weight (i always eat 1200-1300 cals a day!.!.all healthy!. fruits, veggies, whole grain, skinless grilled boneless chicken, skim milk, kashi, etc!.)

I feel untoned!.!.but i'm running 4!.5 miles! I dont get it!.could my body be getting used to my workout!? I have weighed the same (well fluctuated between the same pounds) for like 3 weeks!.

I dont want to just do 2 miles one day, then 4 the next!. I want to run far because its a better workout!.
how can my body get used to something if I still sweat during it and its stil kind of hard!?

im 17, 5'5'', and 110-113 lbs!. thanksWww@Answer-Health@Com

It's called starvation mode sweetie!. If you are running 4 miles a day!.!.!. and all that other stuff!.!.you are probably burning nearing 1000 calories a day just by working out!. And you are only eating 1200!? You body ( when on a diet) needs the min of 1200 calories!. So basically you are giving your body 200 calories a day!. You are already super skinny!.!. so you do not need to be on a diet!. You should be eating at least 2000 calories a day, if not more like 2500 because of your activity!. I am also a chronic exerciser!. Up to about 2 months ago I was only eating 500 calories a day!. I was too staying at the same weight ( which was good!.!. cuz any lower !.!. I could have died)!. Now I still work out too much ( haha) but been eating A LOT more!. And guess what!? I lost a few pounds at first, and now maintaining! Everyone is yelling at me tho, becuz I need to gain!. But I am happy with this :) So!.!. that means!.!. EAT MOREEEE!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You might want to take a closer look at your diet and try to reach certain caloric ratios!. I personally find that a Cyclic Ketogenic Diet can be very effective!. You cycle between low carbohydrate and high carbohydrate days!.

Also, why do you feel "untoned"!? The next thing I would do is to take measurements to have something to compare to from week to week!. Also, try to keep track of specifically how far you run, how long it takes, and your heart rate!. Some other weekly measurements you can make are: resting heart rate and body fat!.

Finally, a break for a week or so every 4-6 weeks can provide a helpful strategic deconditioning!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Wow, you don't even need to exercise but I will give you advice anyway lol

From what you described, it sounds like you are getting used to it!. You feel untoned!? As in you don't feel like you're putting in much effort as you used to or feel that you should!? That's a sign!. If you feel that's the case, slowly increase the milage or speed!. Like every other time you exercise, switch it up!. Or try a different cardio method all together, like the bike or elliptical!.

Also, do you use weights!? You didn't really mention that, except that you do crunches and pilates!. Maybe that could be a reason why!. Either try some at home dvd's (like Billy Blanks)

PS 4 miles is kind of fast, I can only do 2 miles in a half hour lol (on the tredmill)Www@Answer-Health@Com
