When to take whey protein?!


Question: When to take whey protein!?
I have Weider's fruit splash whey protein, which is 90 calories for 24 grams!. I'm taking 12 grams right now!.
When should I take my whey protein, after or before work outs!? I just cycle for an hour at 32km/h, achieving calorie burns of 500-600!.

Knowing when to take the protein depends on what type of exercise you are doing!. For any type of weight-lifting activity, taking the protein after your workout is essential for muscle growth!. However, cycling is a cardiovascular activity and because you won't be gaining any muscle, taking your whey protein pre-workout will be more beneficial!.

Take the protein 30-60 minutes before you start cycling!. Because cycling is a catabolic activity, your body will need energy!. The body often will turn to muscles for protein during this type of activity but because you will have just taken the whey, your body will have sufficient protein and will instead burn fat to get its energy, resulting in more fat loss and less muscle loss!. After your cycling, make sure to eat a whole food meal high in carbohydrates and protein!.

If you ever decide to start weight-lifting, make sure you take the whey immediately after lifting!. Also, taking some immediately after waking up is usually a pretty good idea because after about 8 hours of fasting, your body is craving protein then too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would suggest eating a good amount of protein before your workout and then after you can drink your protein shake!. After your workout, your body will want to feed of the muscle you just created in the gym, if you have consumed enough protein then instead of it eating away the muscle, it will feed off of the protein so you can keep the muscle!. If your working out and not consuming protein then your not going to keep even half the muscle your building!. I've found it to be helpful to drink the protein shake after my workout because i get soooooooooooooooooo hungry i can't even stand it lol!.

So I drink the shake and I'm ready to go again!
