What's a good length to run to help me lose a little bit of weight?!


Question: What's a good length to run to help me lose a little bit of weight!?
I'm 18, female, weigh around 138lbs and I am 5'7"ish!. I know I'm not FAT, but I have a little extra fat around my stomach and thighs at the moment and decided to run to get it off by mid-January [I have something on then]!. What's a good distance to run every day or every other day for this to work!? I've never really gone for runs before, having always had a sport to concentrate on!!

Its not so much about distance as it is the amount of time you run and how hard you push yourself which you can generally use your heart rate to gauge!.

Try to build up to 30mins/day and at your age 160-170 beats per minute!. You can get a watch or various other electronic heart rate monitors for a decent price!.

PS the first few weeks you'll probabaly have to run!.!.!.walk!.!.!.run!.!.!.!.walk but dont get frustrated keep with it and it'll get easier!.

Lol first of all your body decides where the weight is going to come from!.!.!.!.!.!.!.so if you get lucky the thighs and stomach fat go first :P

There is no real distance but i'd say over 1 mile and more the better
Diet plays a big matter in this too!.!.!.!.!.try to keep a decent amount of over all calorie intake in the day and you will be well on your way to losing all the weight you want to lose!.!.!.!.

It depends on the body, usually for me when I would jog My legs feet and thighs feel itchy!.!.but a good length depends on how far you can run!.
