I'm sick of the gym, what should I do?!


Question: I'm sick of the gym, what should I do!?
I am 5'9, 134 pounds and I go to the gym regularly!. I have been twice this week and also went for a jog/walk for 4 miles around where I live!. My problem is that I am just getting really sick of the repetitive nature of the gym and the equipment!. I'm even sick of the songs on my ipod and I dont really have much money at the moment to buy new songs on Itunes!. Should I just suck it up and go today!? How do I make it more enjoyable!? I dont have any friends that go to my gym or anything!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, to help with your routine, make it more exciting and challenging!. It will be more fun and will get you more benefits!. Try interval training, and if you are in good shape, try HIIT!. you aren't going to see much progress only making it to the gym 2x a week!. you have to exercise with a purpose and not just to get "healthier"!. set short and long term goals and design a workout to meet those goals!. keep a training log so you can track your progress!. basically to make substantial progress you need to constantly push yourself harder and harder!. as you become more efficient at exercise you should be able to perform more "work" in the same amount of training time!. more work being the equivalent to either lifting more weight, performing more reps or running greater distances in the same amount of time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Go running outside, ride a bike, try swimming, play on a friends Wii Fit, get a balance ball (they are very cheap)!. Build as much variety into your fitness regime as you can, while the improvements will be slower than repetitive boring gym routines the odds are you'll find it much more enjoyable and will be able to stick with it!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I love my exercise ball video!. I bought it at target for 20$ and it was the best 20$ I ever spent!. It came with the ball and video and I do it every day for 20 mins!. You could also d/l exercise music for free off of Lime wire, you have to d/l the program first though, but i know you can find a free version!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I hear you, I hate going to gyms and working out inside!. I run outside year-round!. For arm and core strength I do old school exercises like push ups and curl-ups!. Look into finding a 5k 10k or half-marathon in your area coming up so you have something to train for!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, you should still go!. Later you'll be proud of the results you get from working out!. But try talking to someone new every time you go!. People are good alternative entertainment (especially cute guys)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
