Push ups don't actually target your abs, the chest and triceps are the main focus!. Your body does use some of the other muscles for support and stability, but it doesn't exactly help build abs!. I know what helped me build strength was weightlifting!. Start off with a set of dumbbells or a small medicine ball, maybe 5 to 10 pounds, whatever you can manage best!. I took the medicine ball and just tossed it back and forth in each hand!. This might seem like nothing at first, but you will start to feel it in a few minutes!. And start doing push ups right before bed, start off with five GOOD push ups, good meaning keeping the back straight, hands no farther apart that your shoulders, feet together and don't look at the floor, look straight ahead!. Do some more when you wake up!. Start off with that and see how it works for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You are a girl, right!?

Ok, so try starting with "girl" pushups!. There is no way you can't do some of these!. Do as many as you possibly can!. Then, without getting up, double it!. Rest for a day or so (but at least a day, as you will need to let your muscles restore)!. Then after your arms get strong enough, move on to "normal" pushups!. Do as many as you can!. One reason why normal pushups are more difficult is because they require strong abs!. You must keep your body straight, and this requires a muscle or two down there!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yeah push ups really are not designed for the abs!. As you said they are more suited to strengthen the arms!. Try something more like sit ups or plank!. Just make sure when you are doing the sit ups you dont do too many because you could pull the muscle which is very painful! Hope that helps you out!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hey- push ups are not for your abs, they are for strengthening your arm muscles- ab excersizes you might try are crunches and pull ups ( your using your lower-mid- and upper body to do this!.) and side to side sit ups! good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

When you hold yourself flat out in the pushup position, your abdominal muscles contract to keep your body straight without falling down, causing the '6 pack' to form!. Arms are a part of it but your abs also play a role!. Try the pushups against the wall or bench, they're easier, or do 'womens' pushups where you keep your knees on the ground (that won't work your abs as much, though), and to build your arms, dumbells are a must!. Since you don't do regular weights, get 2kg/4!.5lbs weights and go from there with regular bicep curls (stand straight, hold weights and bend from the elbow upwards, 3 sets or 25 reps) and tricep kickbacks (kneel on the ground, hold weights at your side and move your arms backwards) for about 2 reps of 10!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

push ups build chest, triceps uses shoulders back abs as stabilizers
depending on arm position the work on the bicep muscle changes

ab exercises build muscles of abs
the only way to see the hard work is to loose body fat
that is cardio and diet
Push ups are some of the most versatile exercises that will help you to gain extra strength!. As you do these routines you are constantly lifting 60% of your body weight each time!. There are some guys who are so good at push ups that they are able to clap between consecutive push ups!. This is one of the best ways to add strength!.The effective push up regimen recommends that you perform eight sets of three reps each making sure that a one minute rest interval is observed between sets!. If you can be able to clap as you do the push ups then it will be much better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
