Question: Are there any dangers or concerns of overloading with water before you eat or even just in general!?
i was reading how dieters say its best to have water before you eat cause it distends your stomach and stops you over eating!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is very possible to overload your system with water, however, depending on your age, size and kidney function, it is difficult to do so!. In general, people that cause themselves physical damage from drinking water are often victims of other diseases that cause excessive thirst!. Downing a gallon of water in a chugging contest, might cause your electrolytes to get out of balance and make your heart go into an abnormal rhythm, or even stop!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Drinking too much water can lead to a condition known as water intoxication and to a related problem resulting from the dilution of sodium in the body, hyponatremia!. The kidneys of a healthy adult can process fifteen liters of water a day! You are unlikely to suffer from water intoxication, even if you drink a lot of water, as long as you drink over time as opposed to intaking an enormous volume at one time!. As a general guideline, most adults need about three quarts of fluid each day!. Much of that water comes from food, so 8-12 eight ounce glasses a day is a common recommended intake!.


****How much water is enough for dieting!?

One way to calculate how much you need is to take your weight in pounds and divide by two!. The result is the number of ounces of water you should drink a day!.

It does help a bit!.!.!.but controlling your portions works better!.!.!.If you put what you're supposed to eat or a little less even, and not a scrap more, on your plate, and then if you're still hungry, wait at least an hour before you eat anything more, it gives your body time to catch up to the fact that you've actually eaten enough!.

I wouldn't drink more than one or two glasses of water before however!.!.!.there is such a thing as water poisoning!. You get it by drinking too much water in too short a time, and essentially diluting your electrolytes!. If you're going to drink more than a liter at a time, I'd consider using a sugar free sports drink instead, so that doesn't happen!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Overloading on water is dangerous, but it involves drinking a significant amount of H2O!. The last case I remember was a British girl who drank around 2 gallons (8L) in a few hours!. As long as your aren't even comoing close to half that you should be fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Water is a great healer, filler and excellent before a weight program!. Funny tidbit of info, look it up, drinking too much water is not very good, in some rare cases people have drown!.
