Can someone tell me if my workout is effective?!

Question: Can someone tell me if my workout is effective!?
Another question, I'm 5'3", 134, mom of 3, and I do 30 min of HIIT on a treadmill!. I usually go about 2!.5 miles and burn 280 - 300 calories!. Is my treadmill right!? If so, is this ok!? I'm trying to lose about 10 more lbs

I also do lunges and squats, and arm toning with 10 lb hand weights!.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!. Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Well, I'm not sure if HIIT is going to get you 2!.5 miles in 30 minutes!. You should be traveling a lot more distance!. And HIIT isn't effective on a treadmill!. You have to wait for the machine to speed up and slow down!.

The general rule is 100 calories per mile, more or less, depending on your elevation changes!. For you, about 300 calories over 2!.5 miles is highly accurate!.

Secondly, toning with 10 lbs weights for a female at 134 pounds isn't right!. You should be doing about 15-20 reps per set per arm!. I'd suggest a 2 lb or a 5 lb weight, not a ten pound weight!.

It sounds good enough!. Keep at it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Without knowing much more detail the workout sounds effective!. The problem is, how long have you been doing it!? After 3-4 weeks of repetition your body learns movements and becomes very efficient at doing them, so you stop reaping the benefits of such a program!.

Look into changing up your cycles while doing HIIT, as well as the amount of sets and reps you do with lunges and squats!. Just so you know, arm toning has no bearing on calorie burning!. As a matter of fact, "toning" is not "real"- it's actually a combination of muscular development and reduced body fat!. 10 lb hand weights eventually will only build muscular endurance, so you'll have to increase the weight/resistance a bit!. Weights ARE good for burning calories- HEAVY weights and LOW reps maintain your size while increasing your metabolism!. It's tried and true, it works!.

FYI "Heavy" is roughly 70-90% of what you can lift repetitively for a given amount of reps and sets!.

Best of luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like you are doing the right stuff!. If you want to see faster results you could increase the time on the treadmill, increase the speed on the treadmill, increase the incline of the treadmill or all three!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
