Why do overweight people bring up my slender build like it's a bad thing?!

Question: Why do overweight people bring up my slender build like it's a bad thing!?
I am tired of being singled out by overweight people for being "skinny"!. They assume it's acceptable to make comments about someone because they're thin and most of them even try to blame their weight on a health problem when statistics clearly show most overweight people are that way because of their eating habits/lifestyles!. It is just as painful to force yourself to eat when you aren't hungry as it is not to eat when you are - I know because there was a time in my life when I actually needed to lose weight!. It doesn't matter what the topic of conversation is, some overweight person always manages to mention my being thin, in a negative manner!. I don't go around telling overweight people they are fat so what's their problem!? I have a slender, naturally muscular physique of 120 pounds at 5'3" tall!. My doctor tells me that I am a very young 41 year old so why should it be expected of me to endure the ridicule in order to spare the other person's feelings!? It certainly isn't acceptable to tell an overweight person they are fat, now is it!?! Any advice on how to address this when ever it occurs without causing strife would be appreciated!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ugh I get this ALL the time!. I'm just naturally thin, I eat a LOT because I exercise a lot!. So I'm doing pretty good! But then these stupid fat people always get mad at me for being too thin!. I just don't get it!. So I just say, well at least I'm not OVERweight, and smile!. It drives them crazy!. But I'm just mean and I have no idea how to tell them off nicely!. But they really need to learn a lesson!. They shouldn't be criticizing people!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There's nothing wrong with being thin!. I'm bothered when I see people that are nothing but skin and bones, but it certainly doesn't sound like you are!. It seems to me that you are only being insulted because they're jealous of how you look!. It's irritating but just take it as a compliment and move along!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, I think you could mention that you are blessed with good genes and it runs in your family!. You would not be hurting their feelings and it would leave them wishing they were you!. Hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's not a bad thing!.They may just be jealous of your body type!. So they try to make themselves feel better by singling you out!. They may also feel that throughout their life they were singled out for being overweight!. So they want to be bitter to all skinny people!.

You can take one of your 'friends' aside!. Maybe pick one a little nicer!. Then you can ask why they do this!? If she is still stuck up!. I would suggest getting new friends!. As hard as that is!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Seems like there are two dimensions to this!. First is that yes there are rude needy people in the world that must abuse another to make themselves feel better!. But consider this!. There are some who while they may or may not have extra pounds with which to deal have a difficult time complimenting anyone!. What starts out as 'wow I admire your physical self' comes out as 'wow you sure are skinny'!. Still rude but may have complimentary overtones!. !. !.On the other hand I may have over thought this and they are just rude and stupid!. That you are healthy and fit ought to be enough!. Ignore them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi there,

My late father's wife is a total jerk to me about my weight!. She's about 300 pounds!.!.!.I'm not even joking, she's very!.!.!.very over weight (I feel horrible saying that)!. I'm about 135-140 pounds and have decided to lose weight now that I'm eighteen and my metabolism will start to slow down in due time, another thing, type two diabetes runs in my family like crazy!.!.!.in fact, if my father had taken better care of his type two diabetes, he may have lived longer!.!.!.I feel horrible for saying that, but!.!.!.I have a feeling that it's quite true!.

I don't want diabetes, I really don't! I also don't want to weigh a lot either (I'm a little shallow that way)!. Right when I mentioned that I am choosing to lose weight, she starting commenting on how I'm "so skinny that I will snap in half!." She said it in a really snooty tone!. But, this isn't the first time!.!.!.she always goes on and on (and always has) about how skinny I am! I don't call her fat or anything! I don't comment on anyone's weight, especially to them!

So you know what I've learned!? Stop caring!.!.!.just stop caring about other people's opinions!. Just because someone thinks that you shouldn't take care of yourself because you're "sooo thin," too damn bad! It's probably because they're jealous of you for looking skinny!.

If you want to exercise, go right ahead! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Its the same way with a coloured person calling out a white person on an innocent but seemingly racist remark, its okay for them and no one calls them out because there afraid to be racist!. If it were the other way around and a white person said something seemingly racist to a coloured person, that coloured person would probably have something to say about it!. Just like no skinny person would call out a fat person for calling them skinny!.
Its society!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They're just trying to convince themselves that being overweight is better than being thin!. In other words, trying to bring others down to make themselves feel better!. Plain and simple!.

Personally if someone overweight was bringing me down for being "too thin" then I would bring up that they're overweight and tell them to stfu!. :) 5'3'' and 120 pounds is definitely not too thin at all!. It's just at the right weight for that height!. Show them a chart that you're right where you're supposed to be and they're notWww@Answer-Health@Com
