So is SLS (Sodium laurel / lauryl sulfate) harmful, or not?!

Question: So is SLS (Sodium laurel / lauryl sulfate) harmful, or not!?
It's in tons of popular and common health and beauty products; I saw a toothpaste that said: SLS free in bold lettering across the top, so I found out that:

* Sodium laurel or lauryl sulfate (SLS), also known as sodium laureth sulfate (SLES)

I don't know much about it!. But your question certainly high lights a pressing issue:

Do we let the government tell us what to buy and sell!?

Or would we be much better served by:
-- people like yourself,
-- presenting questionable products
-- to independent labs for analysis
-- whose results are publicized and
-- made available at the points of sale of these products!?

Laws are so easily abused!. Knowledge is far more accurately governed by the individual who possesses it!.

Only in excessive quantities, but the amounts they use in shampoos and body wash are fairly minimal!. That said I think Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is too harsh and drying for the face, so I would use Sodium Laureth Sulfate in face washes which is gentler than it's counteraprt!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, it is harmful!. It is in a lot of shampoos!. I try not to buy anything with it!. It's carcinogenic!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
