How do I gain Flexibility?!


Question: How do I gain Flexibility!?
I'm 14!.

And not very fit!. At all!.
I can't even touch my toes, and for some reason I can't bend my right leg at the hip high enough cause it hurts, and it physically cannot bend as far as my other hip!. This is only noticeable if i'm sitting down on my butt and bending my knee, pulling my heel towards me!.
Whats wrong!?!

P!.S!. I'm stretching and it's not doing much!. How much time in a day should I spend stretching, how for how long!? [Months, weeks !.!.!.]

when i was 19, i was very unfit and overweight inflexible!.

it was around that time that my best friend was recovering from an eating disorder and in one of her (very successful) attempts to become healthy again, she began teaching aerobics and made me feel so guilty if i did not come to all 5 of her classes each week!. and so, reluctantly, i was at every single one of them!.

she taught for an entire summer and i attended every single class, and each class included 10 minutes of stretching!.

by the end of the summer, i was smaller, getting compliments, and gained more flexibility than i ever imagined i could have! i actually started looking forward to going to class!!

when she went back to school that fall, i took over her classes and now, over 10 years later, i am still an instructor and a personal fitness trainer as well!.

so anyway, my suggestion to you is to faithfully attend an aerobics class!. the classes will instruct stretches that you probably would not do unless you were at class!.

practice makes perfrect, and gaining flexibilty is something that requires dedication and working at nearly everyday!.

if you cannot get to a class, purchase a video that has a good stretching program!.

go to youtube and see if you can find some clippings of some good exercise videos by typing in "cardio and flexibility" so you can sample any video you may purchase before you buy it!.

OH!!! i almost forgot - - -

and NEVER stretch cold muscles!!! this is a recipe for injury!!

always warm your muscles up by doing some sort of cardio, whether it's dancing to music or on the treadmill!.

please always remember never to stretch a cold, unworked muscle!. warm-up for at LEAST 5 minutes!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Some people just aren't born as flexible as some!
I have very little bones, so I'm flexible, but not much!.!.yet :)
You should stretch every morning for about 10 minutes (15 seconds on each stretch) and then you should practice doing thins like splits, cartwheels, backbends, et!.
Just like if you were a gymnast!. The only way they be flexible is practicing and practicing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
