will just doing push ups be a good exercise for the upper body, and how many push ups a day should i do for it to be worth whileWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Just push-ups is not enough for upper body - they work your pecs (chest muscles), but don't forget you also have back muscles, shoulder muscles, and core muscles!.

Even if you only work on chest, push-ups are still not enough (only hitting the muscles at one pressure plane)!.

You can do different variations on push ups, from diamond push-ups to wide arm push-ups, elevated push-ups and 1-arm push-ups (google for details and variations)!.

How many --- if after all of this you still wanna go push-up only, you have to do as many as it takes for you to be unable to do any after 10 minute break!.

So, you start doing sets till failure (without breaking the form)!. Start by doing one set for as many as you can, take a small break, do another set!. Continue this until you can't do a single one!. Than take a 10 minute break!. If 10 minutes later you can do more, start over!. Once you can't do any after 10 minutes, stop and don't do push-ups for 2-3 days (until you fully recover)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

push ups are good!. Vary the position of your hands (close, medium, far, fingers pointing in, pointing out, feet on a bed or chair, etc)!. If you are strong enough, you can also do them in a handstand position!. But make sure you do complementary exercises as well (hang from a low bar and do reverse push-ups (aka pull ups, but positioned more in a laying down position than hanging down)!. Don't do the same exercise all the time!. I got very nicely ripped using only natural gravity resistance in my workout routine, and the football player Herschel Walker did as wellWww@Answer-Health@Com

Depends of what weight lifting exercises you are doing, but I would say that push ups involve more muscles on your upper body at the same time than your regular bench press!. You would get to partially workout your abdominal muscles and your back muscles as well!.
If it was just to keep fit, I would choose push ups, plus there is a wide variety of ways to do them!. But if you want to really bulk up though, you would eventually have to do weights!.

Do both, mix and match different exercises :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hell yeah, Push ups are a great excercise, and an even better one is pull ups!. You should do as many as you can!. Get in the habit of not counting and just do them until you can't!. Though weight lifting will always be better for growth, but body weight workouts are better for overall fitness!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Exercising helped me to lose loads of weight once I combined it along with using acai berry!. I understand they say that pills will not work, however they definitely worked for me, and they have been showcased on CBS News too!. The push ups will help tone your muscles!. It will not do much for building larger muscle!. It is worth while!. Do as many as your body can handle without causing strain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You won't get any bigger but they will help you tone up!. It will get easier for you to push up your own bodyweight!.!.!.that is the advantage of the gymWww@Answer-Health@Com
