Question: Can vegetarianism cause constipation!?
I've found that it does this to me every time i try it after about 2 weeks!. Also I find I am hungry constantly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you are changing your diet suddenly and begin eating a lot more fiber, by way of eating a lot more vegetables, yes you can get constipation!. Try taking some vitamins and perhaps a diuretic and you should start feeling better!. Talk to your doctor about how you should plan your meals to prevent constipation!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am a vegetarian and am not constipated!. Make sure you are drinking water and eating a variety of foods (eat everything healthy and isn't an animal)!.

You are doing it wrong!. Vegetarianism is simply replacing animals from your diet with non-animal alternatives!. It has nothing to do with caloric intake!. What you've probably done is just eliminate meat and added nothing to your diet!. Well those 700 calores you get a day from your chicken sandwhich and meatloaf aren't being replaced, so you feel hungry!. Just eat more!. Feel hungry!? Eat a PB&J!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

not at all- since vegetarian food contains high amount of fibre in it - -it helps woith digestion and does not cause constipation- try to drink more water and try to include more of green leafy vegetables in the coming weeks and you will be able to rule it outWww@Answer-Health@Com
Just make sure you get plenty of insoluble fibre in your diet!. This can be found in fruit (fresh, dried and juice), wholemeal bread/pasta/cereal/bran, brown rice, beans and pulses!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
any dramatic change in diet will have an effect on your digestive system!. drink plenty of water as you will more than likely be eating more fibre and it needs water to help pass through your systemWww@Answer-Health@Com
