will i lose weight by dancing?!

Question: Will i lose weight by dancing?
I have already posted this question once but had very few replies so i am reposting and hopefully more people will help me.

for the last month i have been trying to lose weight, i have improved my diet, ride my bike for twenty minutes in the morning and dancing for an hour every evening, here is an example of a typical day:

morning:

wake up
get on my bike for twenty minutes
have 2 slices of toast, an apple and cup of tea for breakfast.

afternoon:

housework (vacuuming, clean windows) this changes on a daily basis.
may have a ten minute dance around whilst cooking dinner.
eat gammon, potatoes (in skin with small amount of margarine) and peas then apple for pudding

evening:

watch TV
for supper i eat cereal (shreddies) with low fat yoghurt, bowl of sliced peaches
dance for an hour (pop, latino, r & b).

snack (crisps 85-90 calories) and orange juice.

go to bed about three hours later.

This is a huge improvement on what i used to do, which was sit around most of the time constantly eating chocolate and sweets. When i hit 12 stone i decided things had to change. The thing is, on my first week i lost 5 pounds then stayed the same two weeks later but i was losing several inches every week, last week i put on 2 pounds and also gained inches on waist and hips!! What went wrong??? my next weigh in is tomorrow, i do it every Friday morning, i am dreading what its going to say. Does anyone know what i am doing wrong? i don't want to quit out of frustration. i chose dance because i enjoy it, tried jogging and aerobics in the past but i got bored quickly and quit.
also my increase in appetite was because of quitting smoking, i haven't always been overweight, used to be between 9 and a half to ten stone.

Answers:

You probably aren't eating enough to maintain your activity level; you need more food if you're more active.

And remember, you're not always going to lose weight. Your body isn't an exact science and doesn't always respond well. Also, it could be hormones, sodium, not enough water, etc. Lots and lots of possibilities.

Get over the false hope that you will lose weight every single week. It's not going to happen. Just be healthy and eat healthy, and you will start to see results. Maybe not today, maybe not next week, but over time you'll see it.

lost 60+ pounds

id say your diet is fine, except i would tr adding some chicken meat or egg whites for lunch.

sometimes when we eat lots of salty fods the scale goes up. try peeing vefore you first get weighed.

sometimes if your not losing weight its bcause your body is in starvation mode, meaning your not eating enough. your body stores every calorie as fat, so its as if you were eating butter the entire day. try increasing the protein, and try eating good fats like fish and milk:)
i promis youll start losing wight:)

good luck!!1
