Sit as far down as you can in them, and stay. It may be akward and uncomfotable for a while so turn the TV on and try to relax. Get a friend or a parent to push you down every now and then (it should hurt a stretch a little but not be painful) they should push you down and hold it for a minute or two. Try also just streching lots and lots. Not just stretching your splits, but putting your feet in front of you (legs together) and try to touch your toes. stuff like that will help.. All i can say is just sitting in them.

to do splits you need to exercise and warm-up very often in order to render you articulations more flexible to avoid any kind of luxations ... and you should try to get someone's help while you're sitting and gathering your legs ( like in Yoga I don't know how we call this .. duh ) and slightly that someone tries to get them down to the floor... Do mostly the exercises that are based on splitting your legs gently with repeated moves.

depends on how close you are to doing the splits as it takes practise and time
