Exactly... Burn more than you consume on average every day and you WILL lose weight by burning fat to rep;lace the negative e calorie balance. There i nothing hard to understand. The problem MOST people have and why they fail is they estimate calories incorrectly for both the foods they eat and the rate at which they burn calories through exercise. Prepared food diet plans attempt to control calories in and accurately estimate calories burned through portion control and a counselor who does the exercise estimates for you based on what you SAY. People who fail on managed diets, LIE about their exercise activity and/or cheat and eat extra. Typical garbage in garbage out and then they blame the program for what is actually their own fault by falsifying the data. Bottom line: maintain an average negative calorie balance by burning more than you consume and you WILL lose weight, guaranteed.

My personal trainer recommended that I stay around 1400 calories a day. I've lost 13 lbs in a month and a half and I don't work out nearly as much as you. (I basically just diet) You don't have to exercise all the calories off to lose weight. Your metabolism will burn them on it's own. You should take a multivitamin that helps your metabolism stay up. Eat small meals throughout the day. And drink plenty of water, especially if you're working out often. Get at least 8 hours of sleep a night to allow your body to heal from the previous day's workout. Also check out this website for a list of foods to help you boost your metabolism. http://ecosalon.com/boost-metabolism/ DO NOT by any means, eat less than 1000 calories a day or your body will think it's starving and will save the food you eat to survive, and instead it will start eating your muscles.

Good luck!

you can eat as many as you want, as long as you burn off more than you ate. say you eat about 2,000 calories a day. if you burned off 2,500 you'd lose 500 calories a day, equaling 3,500 a week which equals one pound! if you play sports and vigorously work out a lot, you should take in more calories. also, if you do cardio before you eat, your body still burns calories for the next hour or so.
