How Can my friend become a size 6 uk clothes?!

Question: How Can my friend become a size 6 uk clothes?
my mates wants to lose weight before summer shes a size 16

Answers:

31 24 33 inches = the measurements of a UK size 6.

Okay, so your friend has to lose 9 inches from the bust waist and hips.

You've got to take body structure into account though. Even if i lost all the weight possible without dieing, my hips would not change shape as obviously your skeleton stays the same. It may be impossible for me to fit a size 4 simply because my hips are still wider, despite having very little fat on them. So bear this in mind- her build may determine the healthiest weight/size for her to be.

The first place women tend to lose weight from is the breasts..has she taken this into account? Also, her body may be left with many stretch marks. If i go below my ' natural weight' say to 7 stone- around a UK size 6, i get terrible stretch marks- you mention summer? You wouldn't want to be seen in a dress. Put the weight on to a healthy weight and they disappear.

What I'm saying is check her BMI...take her height into account and find the minimum weight she could possibly be. Going below that is dangerous. Also, I can give advice on how to lose weight quickly etc but it's a lifestyle choice as well- eating healthily and exercising sounds 'simple' but it's really not. She's changing her everyday life.

Anyway!

Drinking water and green tea does help. If she tries to drink 1.5 litres of water daily and also say 3 cups of green tea this will help pretty instantly. Improves overall health also which means she'll be less likely to put the weight back on if she continues with this.
- Cut out caffeine.

If you avoid eating a particular food for 2 weeks eg. one that's high in calories- chocolate etc. Then you don't crave it after those 2 weeks. Sometimes craving for sugary foods increase towards your period, so if she drinks juices instead of sugary or fatty foods then that will help also and stem cravings somewhat.

There's many articles out there on how to eat healthily. I'd say get her to look around and find a diet thats appealing to her. If she likes Italian food, find the low fat Italian option. This encourages you to stay on a diet as you aren't dramatically changing the way you are. If you hate lettuce- you hate lettuce. Forcing yourself to eat something you don't like isn't a good idea- you give up easily.

Evening meals should ideally be eaten early on- such as 5-6.30 pm. Doctors have advised this to many as the food you eat before bed is less likely to be metabolized eg. you store it as fat. Also, you sleep much better if you eat that meal earlier- this helps give you energy to move about the next day. If she snacks in the evenings, try oatcakes as these are good dietary fibre. Fibre helps removes bad cholesterol from the arteries and transports it to the liver for excretion. Fibre is in cereals, oats, fruit.

My PE teacher used to say that diets don't work without exercise and she's entirely right- or at least, they won't work in the long term. So say for 5 minutes every hour on the weekend she does some high intensity stuff like squats. ( look up overall body exercises). 5 minutes every hour won't seem much but it will pay off. Then is there anyway you two could go for a walk together say for 1 hour/30 mins? It can help if someone does the exercise with you.

Just changing everyday habits slightly will help in the long run. Try 30 minutes exercise everyday, a bit more on the weekends. And look up diets that sound like things she will enjoy eating rather than tofu forest if this is not her kind of thing.
