Do situps help your stomach?!

Question: Do situps help your stomach?
Do they? Do they help your abs?

Answers:

Do they build muscle strength? Yes.

Do they improve the appearance of your abdominals. Yes, a bit in the beginning, but you cannot change the appearance of your abs. The appearance of the abdominal muscles is genetic and anatomical.

Do sit ups burn fat? No. Do them to strengthen your core and help with your workouts, but don't rely on them to burn fat.

If you do not have fat over your abs, then they should be clearly defined. Abs don't grow and change like other muscles of the body. They can grow a bit, and get a bit more cut, but this change will not be significant. If you are not pleased with the appearance of your abdominals, then there is fat over them.

There is no such thing as "getting abs." Everyone has abs, and everyone has six pack abs. The task is exposing them by removing fat.

they can, the only problem is you have to do other workouts with machines, to lose weight, otherwise, your basically just building a six pack under your layer of fat, and then just making your fat stick out more...

so eat right, and lose the weight, and yes it does help, but nothing will ever replace machines

indeed, so does crunching, running, walking and many other exercises, if you have a smart phone get an app called jefit it will show you a ton of handy exercises

There are different kinds of situps, crunches help your upper abs, whereas full situps where you're just flexing your ab muscles so they pull you up work your lower abs.

If done correctly, they can help your ab muscles. You need to eat properly and exercise to help your abs.

.

Yeah but you have to do them Daily or else your just wasting your time. :)

yes
