If I burn 200 calories by working out, and then if I eat 200 calories...?!

Question: If I burn 200 calories by working out, and then if I eat 200 calories...?
Will me working out be pointless? Because I'm just getting all those calories back by eating...?
:(

I had a bowl of cereal for breakfast which was 200 calories, and then I worked out, and burned 300 calories and I just had dinner which was around 600 calories.
Was there really any point of working out if I just got all those calories back?

Answers:

Well, in total you ate 800 calories. You burned 300 calories, which really means you ate 500 calories (not enough!). Yes, because it is good for you, and allows you to eat more food...

Lets say I want to eat 1,000 calories a day. I can not work out and eat 1,000 calories...or I can workout, burn 300 calories, and eat 1,300 calories that day.

I hope this makes more sense!

Working out boosts metabolism, and promotes muscle growth. This means u are burning more calories after the workout because of your metabolism. The more muscle, the more calories you can eat per day without gaining weight. So yes, there is a point in working out, and u also have a daily caloric intake, and according to you which was 800. depending on age/weight/height, your body REQUIRES a specific number which can be found using google.
Keep workin out, its good for you!

YES! by working out, you are building muscle in your body, and the more muscle you have, the more efficiently your body can process, well everything. Food, oxygen, etc. Exercise also boosts your metabolism, so your body will burn more calories even when you are at rest
