Question: Do anorexics think their fat loved ones are disgusting?
I'm NOT anorexic, but my mom is very over-weight. I'd hate to call her fat just because she's my mom. But all she does is eat... and to be honest, I think it's pretty gross. :(

No, this is not a sign of anorexia. I was anorexic and I never really judge or cared weather my loved ones were fat. I did judge other girls my age and defiantly compared myself to my sisters, both older and younger. My mom is over-weight but I really don't judge her that much because she is happy the way she is. Yes, she wants to lose the weight and sometimes I get grossed out by the way she eats but it does not change what I feel about myself. You may need to talk to a doctor or a friend if you are thinking you might have a problem. This disease can take anyone and their are many different things that can trigger this disease so be careful.
I had a major eating disorder as a teen, thank goodness I got pregnant when I did, forced me to eat normal and get therapy but I did feel people who ate were disgusting but more than anything I felt hatred for people who were skinny and eat, I felt more that those people who ate and were fat got what they deserved and all the downsides of being gross to others, now I lean more torwards disgust at those who cheat to lose weight (I work in a business where this is common)

It depends on the person, some people are so bad they cannot even tell anyone is fat
tELL HER she will die if she contiunes eating. tell her to go to the doctor and get a diet plan. tell her to go VEGAN
