I'm underweight but I love sports... how can I gain weight?!

Question: I'm underweight but I love sports... how can I gain weight?
My doctor told me to gain weight but it's impossible. I LOVE sports (Cheer, Dance, Skate, Swim, Walk) and I can't watch T.V. for more than two hours and just sit there in one spot because it's too boring... I always have the urge to stand up and walk around. Today, I danced, I helped my dad with chores (Lots of walking around), I walked around the block with my friend, and then walked around the block AGAIN with a different friend, then I played indoor basketball. How am I supposed to gain weight if I love sports so much? And don't tell me to stop playing sports because sports is what makes me happy... Along with my friends and family.

Answers:

as you know calories are energy. if yoy eat 2500 calorie and did enough activities to burn of 3000 your loose wieght if you did enough to burn 2000 you will gain wieght. so there 3 things you can do. Eat more calories and but keep your acitivites as they were before. eat the same amount you usually do but do less sports. OR work on your muscle tone and wieght lift, push ups site ups and gain muscle so the choice is yours

i have the same issue, 14 and cant gain weight.... track cross country marching band percussion ensemble the TOUGHEST classes, everything they say is impossible in high school was done by me, but im "dangerously underweight", but there is NO way im stopping anything :/

Actually there is away to do both. Take protein shake and lift weights, so that way you can gain muscle mass while still being active in some type of activity. Bodybuilding and working out is like a sport.

I would eat double what you are currently eating right now. so instead of one bowl of cereal, two bowls. instead of 1 cookie, 2 cookies. Also drink plenty of water with your meals.

Start lifting heavy weights increasing every set. Also eating more with heavy proteins and carbs (pastas, wheats). If you do that for a month you should notice a difference.

I heard drinking juice or milk with meals instead of water helps.

Ur not the only one. I hav the same problemo :/
