Given up on weight loss?!

Question: Given up on weight loss?
Has anyone ever given up on weight loss and just accepted that they are fat? Ive tried all kinds of diets and they have all made me miserable. So I have decided I'm going to be happy, fat but happy. My mum has a problem with this though. Personally I would rather be happy and fat than forever dieting and miserable. Anyone done the same?

Answers:

Diets never work...so I wouldn't give up...losing weight takes a lot of work and determination. I have a feeling my mom has given up, but I know she is not one hundred percent happy about that. Trust me when I say to not give up.

Hey there,

I don't think you should give up and there's no reason to be on a diet in the first place. If you are wanting to lose some weight, you need to focus on fixing your food and try and exercise for at least 30 mins every day, even if it's just a walk!

Diets are the biggest mistake you can man, they make everyone who tries them miserable and they don't work. You always end up putting the weight back on. Decide to do this for yourself and just cut the portion sizes down, eat the right foods and exercise. Don't neglect yourself from a piece of chocolate or whatever it may be that your craving, but learn to make it a little piece as a treat.

All the best, you deserve to be happy!

2 or 3 years ago I was 70kg. It never really bothered me till I got on the bathroom scales and realised how much weight I'd gained. After that my confidence went downhill...so I starting exercising for 30 minutes every day and eatting more sensibly. A year later I was down 10kg. And another year later I was down another 10kg. Yea I'm around 52kg now (I'm quite short so the weight is right for my height, even though I still feel I bit chubby in my stomache haha)...

But when I was losing weight, I never actually dieting for longer than a month (before I gave up). I just eat less, but I still eat too much fast food...So I'm just trying to say that you don't have to be dieting and miserable in order to lose weight. I found that exercising everyday made me feel great about myself. You can change your weight if you really want to. But if you don't have enough determination to lose weight, that you don't have much of a chance.

You just need to find out what works best for you. For me, I work out for 30-40 minutes on a cross trainer every day. And days I don't feel like using the cross trainer, I do Pilates instead. So good luck, I hope you work something out!

Awww :( Well let me tell you something, I've gone through the same thing. I'm not fat, just a little chunky, and I'm not happy with the way I look. And sometimes I feel like I just want to give up and stop exercising and watching what I eat. But then I think again. Why would I wanna do that? Why would I wanna put all the hardwork and hard exercising and discipline I put on myself to waste? Its not fair to your body. If you truly want to lose weight, then think about it this way, put up with all the suffering and hardwork you're going through to lose weight, because in the end, it'll definitly pay off and you'll feel happier than you would if you gave up.
Just keep trying. Don't make losing weight a temporary thing. Make it a lifestyle. Start being a healthy person. No more junk. You'll start to feel better about yourself and you'll begin to feel really good.

Please DO NOT GIVE-UP!!! I remember my sister saying the exact same thing a few years ago. Now she has lost the weight and feels great, she can not believe she ever said this. I know it's very hard but never give up I guarantee you will look & feel great. Try to find something to motivate you please don't give up. I would like to hear from you once you've lost some weight, just to ask you how you feel. I am also trying to lose weight & it is hard but I would never give up. I know I will feel & look a lot better as I did once before. It does get harder as you get older so start now!!! Best of LUCK to you!!!

i really know what you are going through right now. your mom doesn't want you to give up because of your health. i have been overweight basically my whole child hood, and still battling but i have recently started going to gym and loving. but i still envy everyone, i know how it feels to not loose weight, it just puts you down and thats when you gotta pick yourself up again. remember your doing this for yourself

Perhaps a short happy life is better than a long miserable life.
