Question: If I'm planning to eat a really big unhealthy meal for dinner, should I starve myself all day?
My uncle is town and today for dinner he says he is gonna make soul food for dinner to give us a taste of the south. Now I usually don't eat soul food because I live in the north and I don't get it much, but I do know that its really unhealthy and contains alot of fat..I would just say that I don't want it..but I don't want to hurt my uncle's feelings..so what I'm asking is, if I plan to eat a really big unhealthy meal for dinner, should I starve myself all day so I will consume less calories total?

No, don't starve yourself, and here's why: If you are starving, your body will retain more of the fat in the next thing you eat because it suspects you'll go awhile before eating again. My advice is to snack throughout the day; you don't necessarily have to fill yourself, but don't let yourself get hungry.
