Question: Weight loss diets? I need a list of the best that work- from your experience.?
I need a list of the best weight loss diets/plans. I would prefer if they were free and/or well know or branded. I am doing an experiment for my year 10 science research project. Links would be really appreciated. If you have any stories about how your or someone you know lost weight could you please put them in it would really help. Thank you.

On it there are some reviews of some pretty famous weight loss programs as well as links to such programs from which you can find some reviews from people who have benefited from them.

Hope this helps!!

hi there
I am a Dietitian so am not gonig to recommend any new and tendy fad diets only what has proven to work even it it takes longer to work than other diets.

research really points towards a low GI (glycaemic index or slow release foods) , high fibre diet with moderate protein content i.e 20% rather than the 15% the ADA would recommend bt less than the 30% recommended on high protein diets.

So if you try to make each meal a combination of these I will give you an example

breakfast: rolled oats (low GI) plus bran (low GI + high fibre) + sliced peaches (high fibre, low GI) + yoghurt (low GI)

morning snack: 200g low fat yoghurt (low GI, high protein)

Lunch: wholegrain crackers (high fibre, low GI) + tuna (high protein) and sliced tomato and avocado (high fibre)

afternoon tea: an apple + vegetable sticks with cottage cheese (high fibre, cheese is high protein and low GI)

DINNER: lean meat (high protein) with some pasta or long grain rice (low GI) and vegetables or salad (high fibre)

does this make sense? I have helped many peoplelose weight on a diet like this as it is
- filling/satisfying
- reasonably low kilojoule
- moderately high protein to stimulate the metabolism
- doesn't have side effects like constipation , bad breath etc

best of luck!

You can try to replace a meal or two with a MRP(meal replacement drink) or a diet bar !
