a question about sodium?!

Question: A question about sodium?
This is crrazy! So, I'm going out to eat for lunch today and I just checked out the nutritional charts for a bunch of the items. I was so excited to try either the:

1) Goat Cheese Portobello Mushroom Panini

or the

2) Buttnerut Squash Ravioli

until i saw their sodium levels. the panini has 2436 mg of sodium and the ravioli has 3189 mg!!

.... isn't this really bad? like ulcer-causing bad?

Answers:

Sodium does not cause ulcers. High sodium intake can elevate blood pressure. Some people are genetically susceptible to this, and others are not.

If your doctor has told you that your blood pressure is high and to limit your sodium, then you shouldn't eat these.

If you are young or your blood pressure is not high, then the sodium for either of these meals will be fine.

Salt is mostly composed of sodium. Sodium causes water retention and your body will actually hold water wait and make you gain weight. One ounce of salt should be taken with three quarts of water. High sodium causes ulcers, heartburn, and high blood pressure. Cutting salt and high sodium foods can cause a person to easily lose 5-10 pounds in only a few days.

Maybe not an ulcer, but it's not good. At all. Definitely unhealthy.

sodium is fattening..but a little is normal to eat.
