At the gym, is it better to stay on the same machine the whole time?!

Question: At the gym, is it better to stay on the same machine the whole time?
I usually switch it up and do like 30 minutes on the elliptical and then 15-20 on the treadmill, or something like that. Is it better to do that, or to just stay on one thing for like 45 minutes?

Answers:

It's better to do that in your case. Simply because you, personally, seem to want to do that. Some machines will burn more calories than others, but obviously you won't burn as much if your mental attitude diminishes and you don't work your heart and body. If switching between two machines helps to keep you focused and working hard, then do it.

Just remember to keep your heart-rate up, get a good sweat going, and have a proper warm-up and cool-down.

Personal experience and research.

If you are there to burn calories, as opposed to sport training or muscle building, it doesn't make any difference how you do it. Some gyms have a 30-minute time limit on equipment during busy times, not sure if that's an issue for you or not. Also, the change of scenery switching machines can give you a mental break,
