Start with small goals. If you drink sugared soft-drinks, replace one a day with a diet version. Make a goal to get up tomorrow and exercise 3 minutes (no more). Once you're done, pat yourself on the back. I got a Billy Blanks DVD and fast-forwarded past the titles/warnings, then set it on pause until the next morning. I slept in my aerobics clothes so I'd have no excuses. The next morning, I'd get up, put on my shoes, and exercise for just 3 minutes. I barely made it at first.
It's been 9 years and I've kept off 26 lbs. by doing those things. I still only exercise about 20 minutes a day, but it became a habit and I looked forward to it.
