When I entered my Freshmen year of high school, I weighed in at a whomping 201lbs. I didn't feel pretty at all. But during that summer, I lost 30lbs. As a junior, I've managed to keep it off (I bounce around every now and then, but that's only natural).
How did I do this? It's pretty simple, actually. I'm not gonna lie to you, and your diet doesn't really have to change much either. Find something you like to do -- do it for an hour everyday. Also, SOME things, not all, have to change about your eating habits.
And it's really just some small stuff. For example, I wasn't always hungry inthe mornings, or I just don't have time everyday to make breakfast. Buy oatmeal and mix it with things like blueberries or cinamon, whatever works. Our family's always drank diet soda, but I still cut the intake to about 1 soda a day. Also, you may want to count calories (as fun as that is). If you have an ipod, I recommend the LoseIt! app -- very helpful.
And as I said before, go do something you like to do -- do it for an hour.
I like to go on walks, play my wii, I do archery and this year, I'm trying out for tennis ^-^
I hope this helped; many wishes of luck to you :D
