can an active woman lose on 2000 calories a day?!

Question: Can an active woman lose on 2000 calories a day?
I weigh approx 157lbs and am very active. (My body bugg arm band shows I burn about 2700 calories a day on average because of my activity and exercise.) In the past, I tended to eat around 1500-1800 (burning about 2600 per day) and ended up bingeing at the end of the week (over 3000 calories). I'm no longer doing the bingeing at the end of the week. My goald is to eat no more than 1800 calories a day, however, this week, I've averaged 2060 calories a day (which still seems like too much to lose weight-since most people eat around 1500/day to lose). Since I'm burned about 2600-2800 every day, could I really lose eating this much a day? I'm trying to decrease it to about 1800/day at most but this week has been tough. Will I not lose weight and even maintain water weight if not fat weight?

Answers:

Set an achievable goal for your weight reduction. If the aim is not practical then you will easily get disheartened and stop following your regime. You must set a target that has a time limit. The amount of weight you want to lose and the time within which you would like to lose it should be decided beforehand. If the time and amount of weight is clearly decided primarily, then your enthusiasm will keep you on the track until you reach your destination
