Push ups vs. Benching?!


Question: Push ups vs. Benching?
I am trying to decide wich one to focus on. I know that bench pressing adds weight, but if i where weights while doing push ups then it is the same thing.

also does doing push ups build stabilization muscles like in benching

I'm with elliot on this one, free weights are kinda the best of both worlds...pushups are referred to as the lazy man's benchpress...I still do them, but you won't get huge results, just some tone.

Free weights are a great way to cause little micro-tears (which leads to growth as we all know) in your muscle because they're constantly balancing the weight around, unlike a bench that keeps everything nice and straight.



Bench press workouts sure will add weight...But it;s gains your muscle weight, it's a good sign actually...
Push ups tend to train on your chest...
Both are good exercises and I recommend to keep on workout with one of these two exercises..=)
