Answers:

Is it possible to lose more in a month? Yes it is possible.
Is it healthy to lose more in a month? Hell no.
Is it healthy to lose 10 pounds a month, every month? Again no.

First off, weight loss should never be strictly about the pounds. You need to consider body fat % and what is a healthy bf%. However, that takes some time and effort so people will tell you 2 pounds a week is okay. You will not keep that up as you will plateau at some point even with proper diet and exercise. This is unavoidable as your body simply does not want to lose the weight and will fight you every step of the way.

In order to lose weight safely and effectively you need to do the following:

1) Exercise: Cardio melts fat and keeps your heart strong. Anything that raises keeps your heart rate elevated is good. You should do about 1 hour of medium to high intensity cardio every second day for a week. The next day should be light resistance training to keep your muscles in shape and toned. Never underestimate the power of nicely toned muscles. Again, every second day for a week. On the 7th day, you do light cardio. Take a walk, for 30 minutes or something and don't just sit there on the couch watching TV.

2) Proper diet: 5-6 small meals a day is ideal but not all of us have the ability due to work and other commitments to do this. Try to aim for this, but don't get too discouraged if you can't follow through. Focus on green, leafy veggies and those fruits and veggies that are red, orange or yellow all the way through. Eat lean proteins such as fish or poultry and whole grains. Try to have these at every meal. Figure on eating about 2000 calories a day. I know it sounds like a lot but with the extra exercise you're doing, your body needs fuel. Starve it, and you wind up working against yourself.

3) Drink water: Your body needs this and with the exercise it's going to need more of it. Don't skimp, try to drink a couple litres every day. This will also help you lose weight.

4) Sleep: This is always overlooked. You need to get enough of it and your body will not only work better but you will find the weight loss will be easier.

5) Persistence: Most diet and exercise routines last about a week before people change their mind, start making excuses, miss workout sessions and finally fall back into the same patterns they did before. You need to make a promise to yourself that you will not miss a workout and you will not cheat.

6) You can cheat: Once in a while you are allowed to do something naughty. Once a week, have that dessert you've wanted. Eat that slice of pizza. Let yourself go a bit for one meal. It will help you in the long run so that you feel like you're not denying yourself anything. However, this doesn't mean you go wild. Remember, you're still in training. Have one meal for that day that's off your diet but be prepared to spend a little more time working out the next day.

Apparently....and I'm no expert...they say its healthy 2 loose about 2lbs per week
