Should i eat something before i workout? please read!?!

Question: Should i eat something before i workout? please read!?
Today, i got up at 6:30 am, and did the Gazelle for 30 minutes - burning 300 calories. it said i went a speed of 4.8 so thats basically a jog? Anyways, after that, i did Zumba for Wii for 45 minutes then walked for 15 minutes...so that was 1 1/2 hour workout. I usually do 30 minute workouts either at night or in the morning, but i heard working out in the morning is more effective. Im not trying to lose weight, im trying to maintain my weight..but lose a little bit of flab on my stomach if that makes sense?
Anyways, i tested this out for the first time today with out eating something before i did a longer exercise than usual, and it seemed as if i had no energy to dance to Zumba but i wasnt hungry.
Should i have something small before i workout this long? Even though its not too intense...? I was sweating...not an excessive amount but still. Or should i just eat after?
I dont want to have my exercise be a waste by burning off the food i just ate instead of burning the fat already stored...
what should i do?
advice?
also, what are some healthy breakfasts to eat after?

- also, please dont suggest going to a gym, my mom wont drive me because she has work, and i cant go outside and run etc. cause its winter time here and its freezing. -
i own an exercise ball, a gazelle and some 5 pound weights...im not over weight..im healthy...

any exercises to tone up?

Answers:

Yes you should because you need energy plus you will burn more calories and have more energy too! You should eat a banana before you workout or even some dry toast/ a blow of cereal. But like if your working out before breakfast eat your breakfast first wait for about half an hour and there ya go but if your working out during the day I suggest a banana or half a piece of toast!

Hope this helped! xoxo

Try to eat a little protein before you work out to maintain your energy and to boost your metabolism so you can burn more calories. After workouts you should try like a smoothie of fruit. And for toning try adding a little weight, but don't use to much if you are only looking to get tone.

Always eat breakfast....for the very reason you mentioned "crashing". The trick is to eat a low-glycemic index breakfast to avoid raising your insulin levels. You r cells need insulin to admit any fuel into them, but too much insulin and excess cqarbs can cause fat storage.

Breakfast:
I take a small saucepan (2 cups?) and put about an inch of water in it. Sprinkle in a couple of ounces of Quaker quick pearled barley (like you’d use in beef barley stew). The barley takes about 5 minutes to boil. When it begins to boil, add a generous amount of ground cinnamon. The barley will need to boil for another 5 minutes to be tender. While it’s boiling, slice some Rome apple, crush a few walnuts…….with about 3 minutes left on the barley add the slow-cook type oatmeal (not the one-minute stuff, it’s too “processed”). If you can get steel-cut oats, that's even better; but they take about 12 minutes to cook so you'll put them in the pan at the same time as the barley. With the oatmeal added, lower burner to simmer, cook and stir for a couple more minutes adding the apples and walnuts. The barley is an insulin buffer and will ward off insulin spikes during the day. (Tip: Omit the barley on days you lift because you’ll want a post workout insulin spike). Barley also lowers bad cholesterol…even better than the highly touted oatmeal. The cinnamon is a natural thermogenic (fat-burner). And the walnuts have mono-unsaturated fats to help destroy belly fat.

If you have wii fit use it, it's inside and it helps get you in routine, tone and work out the parts of the body you want, and it counts calories. :) x

Also eat bananas because they are very low in calories and they release energy very quickly giving you more energy to burn fat and calories.

Another tip is get into a rountine of doing something like push ups. Everyday you do them do a little bit more each time.

Day 1 - 5 push ups
Day 2 - 10 push ups - Like that :) xx

Oh yes breakfast - speacil K range is good, Having bran flakes with fresh fruit or rasins because fruit is filled with vitamins and there is carbhydrates in the bran giving you long lasting energy. :) xxx

I completely understand how you feel because I live where it is very cold and it is not safe to go out running on ice and sleet. I admire people who exercise on an empty stomach in the morning, I tried many times and I can't function until I had breakfast. I either exercise 2 hours after breakfast or around 6 pm. DVD I use for good sweating is "Slim and Sleek Fast" by SELF. It is well done video that will make you sweat and work your whole body. I use Zumba cardio as well but sometimes I just don't feel like dancing.

Do what feels good to you and don't worry about those weirdos who go out running before breakfast. :)
