Question: How can tween girls lost weight?
I have a 12 year old daughter who is 5'0 and 140 lbs. She is overweight i know. I'm trying (she is too) to get help her lose weight, but when she started trying the throw up after you eat routine, i knew she is desperate. She wears oversized clothes or anything that hides her body. I need to know how much and what should she eat. We came up with a plan together: she can only eat fruits, vegetables, and unprocessed meats, so I've been making chicken breast and fish and other meats. Then, I signed her up for Basketball and soccer leagues and she also has her school P.E. If she continues this then will she lose weight? If not alter and change our plan.

Answers:

Honestly, she doesn't need to cut anything out of her diet.
If she likes chicken, give her grilled chicken instead of fried.
If she likes spaghetti, give her a small bowl of whole wheat spaghetti noodles with a light marinara sauce.
If she likes ice cream, give her a scoop of low fat/fat free frozen yogurt.
You get the point.
Allow her to eat all the foods she loves, but give her the healthier option of the foods she loves.
Also, have her eat 5-6 SMALL meals a day, one meal about every three hours or so that gives her a caloric intake of 1200-1500 calories a day.
This paired with an hour of intense exercise every day will result in rapid but healthy weight loss.



You should take her to the gym and you can work out with her around three times a week, try not to do the same exercises everyday. Along with eating the way you say your eating she should loose weight.
