Weight Loss for 15 year old girl?!

Question: Weight Loss for 15 year old girl?
So I'm 15, and I feel like I am over weight. (I'm about 5 foot 3 and 140 pounds). I would like to lose a few pounds, not a ton, but maybe about 15-20, so I'm at my goal weight of about 120. I would like to also slim off a few inches from my stomach area, which has gotten a little pudgy thanks to my minimal exercise.

I have a friend that works out a lot, and snacks on a few things throughout the day. I'm already working on exercising more (I'm taking a 15 minute walk each morning I can, which is about 4-5 days a week, and I work on WiiFit with my Wii for Yoga, and other stuff).

What would be a good "diet" that is healthier and how many calories should I really be taking in if I want to lose weight?

For those of you who want a reason...I'm going to California this summer, and I just don't feel like myself anymore. I want to be healthier for my future...overall, and get into a better habit of working out and eating right.

Oh, and lastly, I'm allergic to many fruits, including bananas, oranges, apples, etc. I CAN eat berries such as Strawberries, Blackberries and Blueberries.

Keep your diet well balanced and continue the exercises. If you can't eat some fruits, eat others. You will lose weight more slowly than crash dieting, but it will stay off if you continue watching your diet and exercising. Stay away from too many sweets, sodas and fried foods.

1.Eat 4-6 small, frequent meals and never skip meals.
2.Include small amounts of good fats.
3.Eat natural fooods; avoid processed & refined foods
4.Eat lean proteins with each meal.
5.Eat more complex carbs, fruits & vegetables.

..................................maybe exercise?

your going to need to run if you want to lose weight. That and lay off any junk food.

I'm 15 as well and a few months ago I decided that I wanted to lose some weight, too. I went to the gym everyday and cut back on calories and fat. Try to eat no more than 2000 calories per day. Some days, I was aiming for more around 1000-1300. Eat lots of fruits (whatever you can and like to eat) and veggies. Carrots and cucumber slices were good for me because they're good for munching on and can take the place of something like chips. Drink a lot of water. Choose low-fat or low-cal foods over their regular counterparts whenever you can.
Good luck :)

First of all, your weight right now is very normal. Next, exercising is a must. You can't diet without exercise or exercise without diet. The two work together. My daily exercise is walking/running two miles everyday.
Walk the first mile, take a break, and then run the next mile. You lose about 4 calories per minute while running,so that's a great weight buster.Next, the calorie intake really depends on your height. If you are short, cut out more. If your taller, cut out less but still a remove few more.Replace all sodas with water,I lose 15 pounds in a month replacing them.
