Does the caffeine in green tea affect growth of kids?!

Question: Does the caffeine in green tea affect growth of kids?
Im 16 and i drink 3-5 cups of green tea each day. Im wondering that amount of caffeine can stunt growth at all. Also, i religiously avoid coffee, soda, and energy drinks so am i good or should i drink a little less tea

Answers:

Green tea has very little caffeine compared to coffee, soda etc. You can decaffeinate it yourself removing the majority of caffeine by steeping the tea for 30 seconds & then dumping that water (which contains most of the caffeine). If using bags, I would rinse these under faucet to get the residuals before continuing brewing. You can rebrew tea up to 10 times.

Approximately 80% of the water soluble caffeine in tea is released during the first 30 seconds of brewing. So, to remove most of the caffeine from your tea, simply pour boiling water over the loose-leaf tea leaves in your teapot, allow the tea to steep for 30 seconds, and then discard the liquid. Use the same tea leaves with fresh hot water to brew a close to fully decaffeinated cup of tea for drinking.

Don't steep green tea for more than 5 min. with not quite boiling water.

There are 169 mg. caffeine in a liter of green tea - 80% removed = 34 mg.

There are 282 mg. caffeine in a liter of black tea - 80% removed = 57 mg.

There are 400 mg. caffeine in a liter of brewed coffee

3 cups of green Tea = 1 cup of coffee.

It wont stunt anything, thats a myth.

Tell me this "experts", how can kids who have a lack of nutrition, do crack on the streets? Still grow to be 6 Feet tall?

Caffeine stunting growth is a myth

no thats a myth... your actually getting antioxidants.. so dont worry about it...
just dont go into excess.. 3 or 4 is fine... after that just stop...

have 2- 4 teas a day
1 coffee
1 diet soda.. thats all

it will not stunt your growth but can take calcium away from your bones...
