Question: Loosing weight help on what i am doing now.?
female 23yrs 160lbs 5'3.
Using "Walk Away the Pounds 2 mile walk in 30min" dvd by Leslie Sansone.
If i use this workout 3xs a week and the other 4 days 1hr @ the gym( i usuallly use the eliptical &weights)?
How much calories should i be intaking per day if i want to loose weight fast. i want to loose atleast 10lbs a month or more.

Answers:

1400-1600 calories a day and exercisng a lot is great. You just have to keep up the exercise aafter you lose the weight.



10lbs a month is a bit much. 1-2lbs a week is a more reasonable goal. You can do it faster, but you will put it all back on later and you metabolism will suffer for it. This is why most diets fail. If you take it off slow it will stay off. 1lb = roughly 3500 calories. So you need to create a 3500-7000 calorie deficit per week. Keep track of how many calories you are taking in and how much you are burning.

NEVER drop below 1000 calories a day. This will cause your body to horde all the fat it gets and feed on your muscle. Don't do it. Seriously.

Do intense exercises for the first half of your workout (running or lifting 5-15 reps to fail) and then jog or fast walk (or better yet keep going at it). Strenuous exercise causes your fat to break up into fatty acids which will then be absorbed for energy.
