I'm a little thick, should I lose weight? Or is it because I am short?!

Question: I'm a little thick, should I lose weight? Or is it because I am short?
I'm 5' 3" 105-107 lbs and I look a little uh... thick (like in my legs)? I don't mind it, I actually think it looks sorta neat. But is it unhealthy? Should I try to be thinner or is this the way my body is suppose to look? I'm nearly 18 if you were wondering. What is a healthy weight range for my age/height anyways?

Answers:

genetics play a big part on the proportion of your body... no worries.. as long as you are active and eating appropriately you'll be fine..
being physically active is important to keep your legs toned and not turned into fat/cellulite

A picture would be necessary to evaluate your question. Weight/height alone are not enough to determine if you're healthy.

Also, fat stored around the stomach is most dangerous. It sounds like you're at a perfectly healthy weight. Just make sure you're active, exercise regularly, and eat healthily.

I am 5' 1" and weight 117 lbs, 21yds. I am "thick" in my thighs as well, thats where all my fat goes it never ends up in my tummy area. Anyways, I went to the doctor less than a month ago and he said I was perfectly healthily for my height and weight. But if you feel uncomfortable with your thighs being "thick" just work on toning them up. Thats my plan!

I found a few websites that give a chart of the ideal weight for your height but theres a catch there mostly based on women aging from early 20's and older. take a look at them and I hope I helped a lil.

It's obviously the way your body is proportioned. You can't lose any weight as you are at the minimum for your height.

should base it on fat percentage the norm for a female is around 22% try to stay around that.
