A year of working out but still...?!

Question: A year of working out but still...?
I have been working out close to year the only thing I have seen that's different is how much I can lift and I have gotten slightly bigger...Is this normal? How long does it take for someone to get ripped/cut? Any tips besides lots of reps and low weights?

Answers:

Diet plays a huge part in your fitness goals. Getting big and getting cut are two different things. you have to get big first, diet and low reps. then get cut, higher reps. this is how body building works in a nutshell. i would first talk to a trainer to assess your fitness goals and how to best achieve them.

Man dont do low weights. I got ripped in about 3 month, I spent a minimum of 2 hours at the gym about 5-6 days a week and I would torture myself there. Some people say that its bad cuz your body dont have time to rest but I was ripped. I started working out about 4-5 months before summer cuz I knew I would hit the beach a lot and I needed the good body for the good chicks. lol. But by the middle of summer I got a nice tan and everything and I would get numbers no problem. i worked my *** of using as much weight as I could for 15 reps and ate a shhhhhhhiiiiiiiiittttttttttttttttt load of protein food.

It depends on how intense you go. The body builds muscle faster when you confuse them so doing a different exercise each day is the best thing to do and circulate the exercises over the course of days you do them. Also if you want lean muscle you do more reps(15-20) with an average weight compared to bulk doing (7-10) with a slightly higher weight. The best example of this is the P-90X DVD helped me build like 5-10lbs of muscle in a week.
